Today we parked in the Grove of Patriarchs Parking lot and hiked the Eastside Trail to the junction with the Silver Falls Loop Trail as we wanted to see the stage of the gnome plants we had seen 2 weeks ago. Instead of going left at the junction to the falls, we continued right on the Silver Falls Loop Trail where it continues to finish the loop back to the CG. In a little over 1/2 mile we came to the gnome plants which were now in full bloom and starting to age. They seemed to be fewer and smaller than in 2019. Here we had lunch before returning to the Grove of the Patriarchs parking lot. I will include a link to 2 other reports, one from 2 weeks ago and one from 2019. Other flowers seen were foam flower, pipsissawa, pinesap and aged candystick. We then drove to Chinook Pass to walk the Tipsoo Lake area where the flowers are in their early stage of bloom. Mt Rainier was hiding behind the clouds, but the mosquitoes were out in full force so we didn't do much meandering!
